What we believe and what we do walk hand in hand. The Bible teaches us that "faith without works is dead." At Cornerstone we strive for an informed faith that serves. Worship, study, and mission are part of the lifestyle of faith at Cornerstone.
The door is wide open for many expressions of these three values. Sunday school for all ages provides one opportunity for study. An Inductive Bible Study for men challenges men of all ages to improve their home, community, and church leadership by learning to discover for themselves God's principles for life from his word, the Bible. A Ladies' Bible Study assists woman to gain a greater understanding of God's call on their lives. A class specially designed for parents points moms and dads to God's word as the source for successful parenting. Other occasional opportunities abound for one on one study, group study, and personal counseling, including PrimeTime, our Sunday night small group ministry. Wednesday nights including worship and study opportunities for everyone.
Mission also plays a significant part in our life at Cornerstone.
Short term missions teams have reached out to communities in the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Thailand, China, Zambia, Duluth, Minneapolis, and Hispanic families in Minnesota's Red River Valley. Cornerstone people also serve the Lord and their community here at home providing rides for people, helping with household chores when called upon, hosting family events like weddings and funerals. There is always a niche for someone who wants to offer their time, treasures, and talents in service to Jesus in our local and the global community.
"Worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness."
That's how the Bible directs us to turn our full attention on God. We love to worship him, and will use everything we have to honor him in worship. We use a wide variety of music and instruments and styles. We worship with prayer, and singing, and praise, and giving, and listening, and learning, and doing. Sunday mornings are devoted to corporate worship, but Sunday mornings are not the only time we worship. Every breathe we take, as people who have been redeemed by God's mercy, is an act of worship when we give our hearts and lives to Jesus. Life is worship at Cornerstone.
